Writer, Editor, and Proofreader

Pine Tree Writing, Editing, and Proofreading was born out of a love for the written word by a bona fide, plant-loving, word nerd!

My first experience with proofreading came at the L. H. Bailey Hortorium at Cornell University where I proofread sections of Hortus Third: A Concise Dictionary of Plants Cultivated in the United States and Canada.

After graduating from the University of Kentucky with a master's degree in horticulture and communications, I worked at Rodale Press in Emmaus, PA, as an assistant editor and wrote and edited chapters of gardening books.

Later, I wrote and edited a number of articles on a freelance basis and edited the trail guide for Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve in New Hope, PA.

After the children were grown, I began an academic advising career at Widener University where I also proofread and copyedited a variety of departmental catalogs and documents.

In 2018, I graduated from the General Proofreading: Theory and Practice course on ProofreadAnywhere.com and became a professional proofreader.

In recent years I have written numerous web articles and content for nurseries, plant and flower companies, and plant apps. Examples of my work are available upon request.
